Obituary

Frances Mildred Brown, known to her family as “Fran”, was born on March 4, 1942, in
Fries, Virginia. She was the seventh of thirteen children born to the late Fred and Mary
Beamer.
After moving to Cleveland Ohio, she met Jessie Brown in 1975. They later married on
January 17, 1980. With this union, they created a blended family of six children –
Larry, Timmy Anthony, Stephanie, Annette, and Elvin. Fran was a homemaker and
enjoyed spending time with her family.
In April 1992, her loving husband Jessie Brown became Pastor of St. Jude’s Church of
God in Christ. As First Lady, Fran was a true woman of God. She enjoyed attending
church and serving the Lord. She was often referred to as the sweetest woman on earth.
She possessed the purest, most genuine soul a person could have. Her grandchildren
doted on this nature along with her inability to say no to them.
Fran adored her children and grandchildren and never missed the opportunity to nurture
them. When her children encountered tough situations in life, they were quick to call
upon her to pray for them because they knew she had a direct line to God. Her prayers
and strong faith in God bought her through four reoccurring battles with cancer over a
period of 32 years. There is power in a praying mother. Fran’s life was a living example
of the Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 – “And be kind and compassionate to one another,
forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ”.
Fran leaves to cherish her memory, a loving husband, Bishop Jessie Brown; her children
Larry Beamer (Sheila), Timmy Beamer, Anthony Beamer, Stephanie Everett (Brian),
Annette Cooper (Theo), and Elvin Evans; Sisters Helen Howard, Christine Cooper
(John), and Ada Rucker (Frank). Fifteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a
host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Fran was preceded in death by her parents Fred & Mary, Brothers; Richard, William,
James, Willard, Blaine, and Raymond Beamer. Sisters; Evelyn Brown, Ruth Davis, Nita
Thomas, Nephews; Troy and Freddie Beamer, Niece; Mary Evelyn
