Arcola Wormley Johnson was born March 21, 1927, in Overton Alabama to the late Albert And Rebecca Wormley. She was one of eleven children-six girls and five boys.

In 1942 she met the love of her life, Willie Johnson, Jr. In 1950 they relocated to Cleveland, Ohio with their four children. The family continued to grow as four more children were added to the family for a total of six daughters and two sons.

Arcola has always been a quiet and reserved person Arcola worked for a while but was told by our dad that her place was at home caring for the children. She was a faithful, devoted, and caring wife. They were married for seventy-three-years before his death in July 2015.

Arcola loved and adored her children, but the grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She was an extraordinary cook and would always make jars of preserve to store for the winter months. She was affectionately known for her cornbread dressing and sweet potato pies that none of us have learned to master. There was never a person who came through her doors that she would not feed. She would go without eating herself to make sure others had something to eat.

Arcola dedicated her life to Jehovah God and symbolized her dedication by water baptism on February 3, 2007. She served until her failing health prevented her from serving.

She leaves to cherish her memories one sister, Bessie Taylor(James B)of Toledo, Oh; eight children Juanita McCulley(James); Onetta Harris, James Johnson(Cynthia), JoAnn Bennett, Sylvester Johnson(Tina), Brendolyn Stewart, Shelia Dungy(Nathaniel), and Barbara Bailey(Robert), all of Cleveland, Ohio; 26 grandchildren 40 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loved ones. In addition, over 8 million spiritual brothers and sisters worldwide.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 20th from  3-6 PM at Watts-Upchurch Memorial Services located at 8201 Superior Ave. Cleveland, Ohio 44103. Burial will take place on Friday, August 21 at Western Reserve Memorial Cemetery located at 11521 Chillicothe  Road. Chesterland, Ohio 44026.
